Swifts and Martins in Garden - 04/07/2008

These birds are definitely not easy to photograph! However, here is a selection of the 100+ shots I took today.

I thought at first this must be Bombus Lucorum, but after consulting the internet I am not so sure. Apparently the males of Terrestris can have white "tails" too and "the workers and males of these two species are impossible to tell apart unless they are dissected"! I didn't have my dissecting knives with me, so it goes down as Bombus Lucorum or Terrestris.
